Menu Plan: New Breakfast Plan

Well, since I think I’m finally recovering from the horrible, no-good, terrible, very-bad stomach bug, I can actually talk about food!

It’s a new month! And that means I went grocery shopping. Hooray! I didn’t do a big trip, though. They had predicted around 8″ of snow for yesterday at one point, and that made me suspect I wouldn’t be able to make a shopping trip on my usual day. So I knocked out a quick Aldi trip on Saturday. Not surprisingly, with the snow predicted, it was awfully busy in there, and I just wanted to get what I needed for the week and skid-addle.

Lent begins this week, and that means that Wednesday and Friday are both meatless. Today is a wildly busy day that makes me kind of want to weep, so you’ll notice some very simple meals on the plan.

And, finally, I’m trying something new with weekday breakfasts this month. I’ve taken note of the meals that all three of my children eat well– and also eat QUICKLY. My girls, the older of the two especially, sometimes take awhile to get through that morning meal and, since we have a bus to catch, that can get stressful for all of us. I’m going to try to stick with some meals I know they can all polish off quickly and see if that helps us have happier mornings– it’s worth it, to me. :)

So, with all that being said, here’s the plan for this week!

Breakfast– Cereal,  Apples, Milk (for the littles, before 7:30AM Mass)

Brunch– Sausage, Egg, & Potato Skillets (cooked by my husband– I was SICK!)

D– Fast Food (picked up by my husband– I was still sick!)

B–Cheerios, Scrambled Eggs, Pears, Milk

D–Spanish Brown Rice w/ Chicken, Corn, & Caramelized Onions

B–Toast, Yogurt, Apples

D–English Muffin Pizzas

B–Granola, Eggs, Milk, Berries

D–Crab Burritos

B–Toast, Yogurt, Pears

D–Cheesy Beans & Rice (date night)

B–Cereal, Eggs, Milk, & Fruit

D- Large Mushroom Pizza, Medium Cheese Pizza

B–Chocolate Oven Pancake w/ Strawberries (<– This didn’t happen last week! I didn’t have cocoa powder, as it turns out.)

L–Chicken Soup, Bread, Apple Slices

D–Baked Ziti, Broccoli

So there you go! That’s what we’ve got on the ol’ menu plan. Those crab burritos are looking pretty good to me… my kids are already looking forward to them. :)

What are you eating this week?
