So, I’ve told you all before: I have bad teeth. It’s something that is an endless source of frustration for me, because I really do feel like I do a pretty decent job when it comes to oral care. I floss, I brush, I see the dentist twice a year…
And I still have issues.
Honestly, since I wrote that post about my bad teeth, I’ve had even more significant issues, like the infection that got deep in my jawbone and caused trigeminal nerve pain. I mean– really??? I don’t have the greatest track record for teeth.
But, despite the fact that I’ve always figured I do as much as or more than MOST people when it comes to caring for my teeth, I must admit I don’t bother with any kind of mouthwash or rinse. I mean, c’mon… brushing is where it’s at, right?
I guess not. Turns out that brushing misses 75% of your mouth. (Say what???)
Anyway, because I’m constantly looking for ways to improve my oral care, and because I’m hoping I can find a plan that will give my children better odds, I was super excited to be asked to take part in the LISTERINE® 21-Day Challenge.
I headed off to Target for my supplies…
REACH® Floss? Check. (Cinnamon, please!) LISTERINE® WHITENING® Original Gel Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste? — say that five times fast– Check. LISTERINE® Antiseptic?
Check. (I picked the FreshBurst, because the color made me happy. No, I’m not kidding.)
At this point, my kids are all, “Mom. Are you DONE getting tooth stuff? Can we look at the toys?”
And I’m all, “NO! We may not!”
But they got over their disappointment. Because THEY got to pick a rinse, too!
Well, okay, they got to get the last one off the shelf. Still, they were excited!
We’ve just embarked on this journey together and, I’ll be honest– I’m excited to see where it leads. I’m such a “rule-follower” by nature that I like having a very specific plan to follow. I’m optimistic that this floss-brush-rinse 2X/day plan may make a significant difference in both how fresh my mouth feels and how healthy it is– stay tuned for more on that later on!
