He did great!
Thanks so very much for all your prayers and well-wishes. They brought us so much comfort.
He was in surgery for just over an hour and all went well. He had a tough time waking up from the general anesthesia (just SO very sleepy!), but he’s doing super. He bounced into my room this morning declaring, “I feel AWESOME!”
We go back on Thursday for an incision check and again in September for a device check. Isn’t it amazing that they could do all that with just a 1″ incision?? Incredible.
I’ll definitely keep you all updated on our sweet boy’s journey and what we discover. Thanks for all the care you’ve shown for us along the way!

God is so good! Praise Him that A did so well and so did his mamma!
So glad to hear it went so well!
Wonderful news! I hope this is one of those fixes that does exactly what it is supposed to do forever more!! Kids are so amazing, they bounce right back, when adults would take twice as long to feel half as good!
Fantastic!!
yay! So glad to see that big smile. I wish him (and you and yours) all the best thoughts for continued success with this problem!
My 3 year old had minor surgery last year (umbilical hernia repair). I recall the surgery and recovery were a piece of cake, but the worst part for a mom was when he was first waking up from anesthesia. Just awful!
Love the smile, but my eyes go straight to his HAIR every time I see a photo of A. The boy has some locks!
He’s got dense, dark hair like his daddy (though A’s is brown, not black.) And I call him my duck because the water tends to roll off his hair instead of making it wet– it’s so funny to me!
Thank you for the update on A! I am so glad to hear that all went well.
