Menu Plan: Sourdough!

 

A little over a week ago, I spontaneously decided to attempt sourdough. I dutifully fed my starter all through the week and, just this morning, made english muffins. I was a little suspicious that I’d get something to rise with only the yeast from the air, but it WORKED! I get pretty geeky-excited about such things. ;)  So, those lovelies will make their way into our breakfasts this week…

 

Sunday:

Breakfast (for the littles before 7:30am Mass)–Rice Krispies, Apples, Milk

Brunch–Buttermilk Pancakes, Sausages, Oranges

Snack–leftovers… I feel like I’m swimming in them!

D–Sunday supper at Bama & Papa’s

 

Monday:

B–Tropical Oatmeal, Milk

D–Homemade SpaghettiOs with Meatballs, Peas

 

Tuesday:  

B–English Muffins w/ PB, Bananas

D–Crab & Jack Quesadillas, Corn

 

Wednesday:

B–English Muffin Sandwiches, Bananas

D–Tuna Rice Casserole, Peas (date night for us! Last week’s date night turned into a family event at Chili’s, so I’ll serve this dish this week.)

 

Thursday: 

B–Peppermint White Mocha Oatmeal, Berries, Milk

D–Beef Burritos

 

Friday:

B–Strawberry OJ Smoothie, Toast

D–Broccoli & Garlic White Pizza*

 

Saturday:

B–Scrambled Eggs w/ Cheese, Mixed Fruit

D–Toasted Ravioli, Broccoli

 

*All Friday pizzas for the next six weeks will be meatless in keeping with our Catholic tradition of meatless Fridays during Lent.

 

Last week’s chicken chow mei fun was a huge success! I’ll definitely be looking for the best (read: most affordable) source for rice noodles. Any suggestions?
