Menu Plan: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The sourdough successes continue! I whipped up some sourdough bread this past week that contained nothing but flour, cold water, and a pinch of salt. That’s IT. And it rose to be lovely, light, and tangy-delicious. I loved it for a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich– yum!

My starter is alive and well, so I expect to continue experimenting with it over the weeks to come…

 

In the meantime, Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! Here’s what we’re eating around here:

 

 

Sunday:

Breakfast (for the littles before 7:30am Mass)–Organic Cheerio-type cereal, Vanilla Yogurt

Brunch–Pumpkin Spice Donuts, Co-Jack Cheese, Granny Smith Apples (this meal was a fun little play on the Irish flag)

Snack–Popcorn and Fruit

D–Fried Ravioli, Broccoli (how authentically Irish– ha ha!)

 

Monday:

B–Tropical Oatmeal, Milk

D–Cheeseburgers, Carrots, Baked Beans

 

Tuesday:  

B–English Muffins w/ PB, Oranges

D–Spaghetti Marinara, Green Beans

 

Wednesday:

B–Chocolate Buttermilk Bread, Apples, Milk

D–Chicken & Spanish Rice Burritos, Corn

 

Thursday: 

B–Peppermint White Mocha Oatmeal, Berries, Milk (recipe in oatmeal ebook available to all subscribers!)

D–Chili & Corn Bread

 

Friday:

B–Banana PB Smoothie, Toast

D–Cheese Pizza*

 

Saturday:

B–Egg & Cheddar Bagel Sandwiches, Mixed Fruit

D–Homemade Hamburger Helper, Green Beans

 

*All Friday pizzas for the next six weeks will be meatless in keeping with our Catholic tradition of meatless Fridays during Lent.
