Happy Birthday, A!!!
I cannot believe he is eight. *Gulp.* I know plenty of parents with older children who likely think eight still sounds little. But, to me, with this one being my oldest, it just seems so much older…
This happens every year. It’s no surprise.
What I can say for sure, though, is that I’m loving this age. All the ages are awesome, and this one is no exception. His capability, responsibility, compassion, and desire to help have only grown and I look forward to all this year has to bring!
Anyway, here’s what we’ll be eating–
Breakfast (for the littles before 7:30am Mass)–Pretzels, Apples, Bananas, Milk (weird? why, yes. it’s the birthday boy’s request. )
Brunch–this is A’s “Family Party” and also his requests– Breakfast Sandwiches, Florentine Quiche, Orange Slices, Applesauce, Carrot Sticks w/ Ranch, and a Bengals Cake
D–A. is going to a hockey game with four good friends for his “friend party”! The game starts at 5pm, so I’m packing an early snack-y supper for them to eat en route. It will include: PB&J sandwiches (we’ve confirmed there are no allergies in this group), Ham & Cheese sandwiches, pretzels, lollipops, apple slices, and those “little hug” type beverages that are total sugar water, but kids love them on occasion.
D–Beef & Rice Burritos
B–Granola, Applesauce, Milk
D–Tortellini w/ Meat Sauce, Broccoli
B–HB Egg, Toast, Oranges
D–Grilled Cheese, Tomato Soup
B–Blueberry Vanilla Cream Oatmeal, Milk
D–Bean & Corn Burritos (date night for us)
… and that’s all I’ve got for right now! I need to get through these parties and then I’ll do February’s menu plan.
Anything you’re looking forward to eating this week? Let me know in the comments!
