Saving Time in the Kitchen: Boiling Water

This may go down as the shortest post I’ve ever written, but here it is:

 

If you want to boil water quickly, put a lid on the pot.

 

That’s it. It’s faster than the microwave. It’s faster than an open pot (by a lot! I timed it and it took me twice as long without a lid.) It doesn’t create any extra work for you; after all, there’s no need whatsoever to wash a lid that has nothing but condensation on it.

 

So there you go.
