Menu Plan: 6/3 – June, beautiful June.

June! Hooray! I love June! Seriously, though, the weather in June tends to be some of the most stellar we’ll see all year. There IS a reason there are so many June brides, you know…

We’ll be celebrating G’s birthday at the end of this week, but she doesn’t turn three until next week… and I’m not rushing it! {sniffle}

Here’s what we’re serving up!

Sunday

B: Cinnamon Crumble Oatmeal, Yogurt, Apple Juice (for the kiddos, before Mass)

Brunch: Scrambled Eggs w/ Cheese, Corn Bread, Grapes

Lunch: Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches, Apples, Water (on the trail! We had a nice, challenging hike and ate on a big rock overlooking spectacular views.)

D: Sunday Supper at Bama & Papa’s

Monday

B: Tea & Crumpets Oatmeal w/ Blueberries, Cherries, Milk

D: Chicken Spinach Tortellini Soup, Bread Sticks

Tuesday

B: Banana Nut Oatmeal, Milk

D: Chicken Parm, Spaghetti, Green Beans

Wednesday

B: Maple Raisin Oatmeal, Milk

D: Barbecue Chicken & Potatoes w/ Cheese, Corn

Thursday

B: Banana Nut Oatmeal, Cherries, Milk

D: Ham & Mushroom Pizza, Blueberries (<– to go!  It’s baseball practice season.)

Friday

B: Chocolate Mixed Berry Smoothies, Toast

D: G’s birthday party! She’s requested a Purple Party, so expect grape jelly sandwiches, purple jello, purple cake, lots of berries, oh, and a cheese plate– not purple, but my girl is a cheese hound like her mama. ;)

Saturday

B: Breakfast Burritos

L: Sandwiches, Pretzels, and Fruit– on the road!

D: Supper with dear friends in Massachusetts.

And that’s the plan around here!

We cannot wait to see our friends– she was my very best friend all through junior high and school. We’ve been through so many life events together, it’s always a blast to get together– we just instantly fall right back into the joy. :)  Do you have any friend like that?

** Fun project alert!!**   In June, I will be experimenting by eating only foods native to those countries from which my ancestors come– in my case, Norway and Germany– for one week.  I already have a few adventurous souls who will be joining me in trying this out.  I’m calling it “Eating by Ancestry.”  Interested?  I would LOVE to have you participate (and to add you to our Pinterest group board, if you’d like)!  Leave me a comment or drop me an email.  Or comment on this FB post (more details can be found there, as well):
