Menu Plan: 6/24 – First Full Week of Summer!

Last week was our first week of summer break and it went by in a blur! Unicorn Camp was a great success and inspired our desserts and snacks for the week. One of the faves, by far, was frosted unicorn horns. I took sugar cones, frosted them, added fun sprinkles, and tossed them in the freezer to set up while we ate. It could not be easier, my friends, but that’s what this whole “camp” thing is all about to me– it makes my life simpler, not harder! And I’m always left with delighted little ones.

Here’s what we’re serving up this week:

B: Cheerios, Applesauce, Water (for the kiddos, before Mass)

Brunch: Breakfast Pizza

Lunch: Martial Arts Picnic (I was asked to bring drinks– boring, but easy, I suppose.)

D: Not sure, yet… the timeline for the picnic/amusement park isn’t really clear at this point.

B: Tea & Crumpets Oatmeal, Apples, Milk

D: Beef Wet Burritos

B: Caramel Apple Oatmeal, Milk

D: Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese

B: S’mores Oatmeal, Oranges, Milk

D: Hot & Sour Peanut Noodles w/ chicken & peppers

B: S’mores Oatmeal, Oranges, Milk

D: Tuna Sandwiches, Apples, Water (<– to go!  It’s baseball practice season.)

B: Bananaberry Freeze (we make these with seltzer), Toast

D: Jalapeno Burn Pizza (I’ve got cilantro in my garden this year, so that’s super handy!)

B: Scr. Eggs, Tater Tots, Fruit

L: Pizza Party to celebrate the end of a fabulous baseball season!

D: Chicken Soft Tacos w/ garden lettuce

And that’s the plan around here!

–  I have completed my week of this project, but there’s still one more week to join in!–

** Fun project alert!!**   In June, I will be experimenting by eating only foods native to those countries from which my ancestors come– in my case, Norway and Germany– for one week.  I already have a few adventurous souls who will be joining me in trying this out.  I’m calling it “Eating by Ancestry.”  Interested?  I would LOVE to have you participate (and to add you to our Pinterest group board, if you’d like)!  Leave me a comment or drop me an email.  Or comment on this FB post (more details can be found there, as well):
