Menu Plan: 5/6 – Activities Galore

I don’t know about your family, but ours seems to have so many Spring activities.  Some are just continuations of things that go on year-round, like karate and gymnastics.  Throw baseball and horseback riding in the mix and our afternoons and evenings have gotten pretty full!    (And, of course, Murphy’s law ensured that the one night we have two activities simultaneously would be the one night Daddy has to work late each week. ;))  It’s all good– and fun– though!

Sunday

B: Cheerios, Applesauce, Milk

L: French Toast, Sausage Patties, Fruit

S: Pretzel rods and carrots sticks w/ homemade ranch dip

D: (not entirely sure yet!)

Monday

B: Tea & Crumpets Oatmeal, Apples, Milk

D: Haystacks (the last time I made these, the kids asked if we could eat them every single night for a week. ;))

Tuesday

B: Creamsicle Oatmeal, Milk

D: Cream of Mushroom Marsala Noodles

Wednesday

B: Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, Milk

D: Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese

Thursday

B: Bacon & Cheese Oatmeal, Oranges, Milk

D: Bean & Cheese Burritos, Fruit, Water (<– to go!  It’s baseball practice season.)

Friday

B: PB Oat Smoothies

D: Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizza

Saturday

B: Bacon Breakfast Burritos

L: Macaroni & Cheese, Jello

D: Hot Dogs on the grill, Baked Beans, Veggie Tray

And that’s the plan around here!

What’s your favorite thing on your menu plan this week?

** Fun project alert!!**   In June, I will be experimenting by eating only foods native to those countries from which my ancestors come– in my case, Norway and Germany– for one week.  I already have a few adventurous souls who will be joining me in trying this out.  I’m calling it “Eating by Ancestry.”  Interested?  I would LOVE to have you participate (and to add you to our Pinterest group board, if you’d like)!  Leave me a comment or drop me an email.  Or comment on this FB post (more details can be found there, as well):

  • I’m down for the ancestry thing. Is it okay if I include my hubby’s background in the mix? I’m mostly Polish and don’t think I can cook a week’s worth of Polish food! He’s Creole so that would spice it up a bit:)

    • There are no strict rules here, Nora! :) I think you’d get a more accurate picture of how the food of your ancestry affects how you feel if you stuck to your own background, BUT I know that can be limiting and hard. I say go for it! :) Make it work in a way that will fit your family.
