Menu Plan: 5/20 – Hiking and Sore Legs!

Oooh, boy, are my legs SORE! I absolutely adore hiking with my family. It’s something we only started doing here in Connecticut (where hills and mountains are far more abundant than they were in Florida, coastal Virginia, or Indiana), and I love it. But let me tell you– it causes considerably more muscle burn than my usual daily walks! This is probably a good thing, though, since it means I feel free to plan and eat whatever strikes my fancy. ;)

Here goes!

B: Cheerios, Applesauce, Milk

L: Broiled English Muffins, Scrambled Eggs w/ Cheese, Mixed Fruit

D: Sunday Supper at Bama & Papa’s (followed by our very first “Mystery Book Club”)

B: Tea & Crumpets Oatmeal, Apples, Milk

D: Tomato, Beef, & Rice Soup, Toast

B: Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, Milk

D: Chicken Parm, Breadsticks, Broccoli (for the kids– I’ll be attending a business dinner with my husband)

B: Brown Sugar Raisin Oatmeal, Milk

D: Spicy Peanut Noodles w/ Shrimp & Carrots

B: Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, Oranges, Milk

D: Tuna Sandwiches, Fruit, Water (<– to go!  It’s baseball practice season.)

B: Chocolate Banana Smoothies, Toast

D: Spinach Alfredo Pizza

B: Ham Breakfast Burritos (before our massive tag sale starts– if you’re local, come on by!!!)

L: Chicken Noodle Soup, Jello (<– I realize this makes us look like we’re sick, but we’re not. The kids just love it after the baseball game.)

D: Grilled Burgers on homemade challah rolls, Pickles, Corn

And that’s the plan around here!

Do you have any favorite exercise or activity that you pick up during the warmer weather?

** Fun project alert!!**   In June, I will be experimenting by eating only foods native to those countries from which my ancestors come– in my case, Norway and Germany– for one week.  I already have a few adventurous souls who will be joining me in trying this out.  I’m calling it “Eating by Ancestry.”  Interested?  I would LOVE to have you participate (and to add you to our Pinterest group board, if you’d like)!  Leave me a comment or drop me an email.  Or comment on this FB post (more details can be found there, as well):
