Peppermint Mocha, After-Dinner Drink Style

So let’s say you just had a lovely little dinner party and you’re looking for a fun coffee drink that could serve double-duty as dessert… this is it.  Or let’s say your husband managed to come home early and you want a fun little mid-afternoon pick-me-up that feels indulgent without being “too much”… this is it.  Or let’s say the Peppermint Mocha is your favorite EVER Starbucks drink and you’re looking for a fun cocktail to match is… well, this is it.

This one is fun, my friends, and exceptionally tasty!  A blender-full will serve 4 (or 2 who like really big glasses!).

Peppermint Mocha, After-Dinner Drink Style (yields 4 medium-sized drinks)

  • 1 cup strong coffee (using double or triple strength instant will work totally fine here)
  • 1/4 cup peppermint schnapps
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (I don’t have to tell you that’s not the same thing as evaporated milk, do I? ;))
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Pour everything but ice cubes into blender pitcher and blend just until mixed.  Gradually feed ice cubes in as you continue blending until the whole thing is thick, rich, and creamy.

Mmmm… minty, chocolaty, coffee deliciousness!  Cheers!

  • Yum! You know peppermint and chocolate paired together is my favorite flavor combo. However, I can’t find peppermint schnapps anywhere. I think I’ve checked 3 places already :( I shall keep looking!

    • How odd that it’s been so hard to find! Even our tiny “hometown liquor store” ;) seems to always have it in stock. Is there a place for it on the shelf and they’re sold out or do they just not even carry it? I never think of that as an odd item…

      • Nope, no place for it. I can find nearly every other flavor of schnapps known to exist, though. Our liquor stores are all the drive through sort (literally, drive “through” – which is incredibly convenient when you have 3 small children and a deployed husband!) and so far Kroger seems to have a better selection!! Maybe I’ll ask the manager at Kroger about ordering it.

        • That’s so weird to me! You could also ask about Rumple Minze. It’s peppermint. A bit stronger, but I don’t think it’d be overly powerful when mixed with all the rest. It’s more expensive than, say, De Kruyper schapps, but it’s also better. Good luck! (Drive-thru liquor stores always make me giggle. ;))
