Champagne Sherbet Freeze

April is here!  For some of you, that means warm breezes are already billowing through your windows.  Others of us may have a few weeks yet before the true warmth arrives, but it’s never too early to be prepared!   Why not learn a few fabulous frosty beverages you can whip up in a flash?

For the rest of the month, each and every Tuesday, I will be sharing a quick and delicious “adult beverage” recipe you can whip up in your blender.  These tasty concoctions are perfect for a late-night treat with your man or as a fun refreshment for your grown-up friends who might be stopping by.

Toss some meat on the grill, a few things in your blender, and you’ve got yourself the recipe for a good time!

Kicking off the series?  What else, but my very favorite?

Champagne Sherbet Freeze

Champagne Sherbet Freeze

  • 3-4 generous scoops sherbet, any flavor but rainbow (rainbow blends up ugly!)
  • 1/2 bottle dry champagne– look for words like “brut” or “extra dry” (Go for cheap here, people!   Save the good stuff for when you’re not mixing it with fruity sherbet.)
  • 1-2 cups ice cubes

Scoop sherbet directly into blender.  Turn on low and start pouring in champagne.  Gradually add ice cubes and blend until completely smooth.  Pour into glasses.  Garnish with fruit, if desired.

(Seriously– I love, love, LOVE this drink.  It is so light and fruity and frothy and DELICIOUS!   I love it with orange, lime, or raspberry sherbet.  It can also be made with sorbet, but beware– it packs a bigger punch with sorbet.  The lack of creaminess makes it less filling and it’s easy to get, let’s say, a little silly. ;))
