Top 11 of 2011

Isn’t it always a little amazing to look back over the past year and reflect for a bit?  I love to sit by the tree-light (my tree will remain up until the Epiphany because that’s how we roll) and ponder what went well and how I’d like to do better next time.  It’s fun to look back at what I’ve written and to peek at what posts got the most attention and reaction.   There are different reasons for traffic surges, to be sure, but they can be a good indicator of what people like to read.  Here’s what I think I can safely say about my readers…

You like recipes that stretch a buck and don’t take a ton of time.

Prepping Five Meals From Five Chicken Breasts took the cake for most-visited post this year.

The recipes associated with it were popular too, with my Batter-Dipped Chicken Sandwiches topping the list.

On the sweet side, my Cinnamon Roll Bread in 30 Minutes seemed to speak to a lot of people!  Some fun tweaks and variations were mentioned in the comments.

Your marriages are important to you.

Giving Him the Gift of Respect provided a meaningful, frugal gift idea to do with your children.  A Meal For MY King fascinated me just because I enjoyed seeing the varying tastes of our men!  And Have a Rockin’ At-Home Date helped remind ALL of us how important that couple time can be… and how easy it can be to make it happen if we just plan a bit.

You also all appreciated the (gentle) slap upside the head I got from my husband in Don’t Insult My Taste.

You, like me, are happy to find a delicious, rather allergy-friendly goodie to give at the holidays.

These Homemade Peppermint Patties were a hit.

You still enjoy a good Birth Story. :)  (Who doesn’t???)

You can relate to Survival Mode (and what it’s not).

And, finally…

apparently a lot of you are looking for Where to Find Replacement Balls for the Busy Ball Popper.  Because… seriously.  THOUSANDS of people have found my site over the past year for that reason.  And well over a thousand have gone on to click on the order form.  I need to work out some affiliate deal with Hasbro… ;)

I have the busy ball popper and I kind of hate it. I never saw it here, I’ll have to read that post. It’s so loud, but my grandson is young. I put a piece of tape over the speaker :-)
Also, it throws balls all over the house, but probably most people don’t have floors that are lower in the corners? Mostly behind furniture?

    • I put tape all over kids’ toys, Susie! That’s one of my biggest pet peeves about “noisy” toys. I don’t actually mind the annoying voices/music/etc… it’s just so LOUD! And, oh yes, the balls go all over. That’s why people are always looking to order replacements. ;)

  • That is so funny the ball replacement thing is so popular!
