Menu Plan: 9/18 – The Older Woman

This is the last week of the year when my husband is YOUNGER than me!  A mere three months separates us but, alas, I AM older.  I definitely hear about it from June to September, so I’m always happy once the season passes. ;)

Early Breakfast for the littles-Cereal,Yogurt, Juice (before 7:30am mass)
Brunch-Scrambled Eggs w/ Diced Ham & Cheese, Toast, Grapefruit, Milk
Mid-Afternoon Snack-Cheese & Tortilla Roll-Ups
D-Sunday Supper at Bama & Papa’s

B-Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, Milk
L-P, B, & J, Raisins, Water

L-HB Egg, Cheese, Apple, Water

B-Oatmeal Raisin Muffins, Applesauce, Milk
L-HB Eggs. Cheese, Apple Slices, Water
D-Chicken Fried Rice

B-PB Raisin Toast, Milk
L-Mac & Carrots, Water
D-Hot Dogs & Baked Beans, Orange Slices
B-Strawberry Banana Fizz, Toast (I make these with plain seltzer.)
D-Meatball & Tomato Pizza (My kids, especially, LOVE meatballs on pizza!)

B-Scrambled Eggs, Tater Tots, Fruit Salad
L-Chili, Corn Bread
D-Poor Man’s Chicken Parm Sandwiches, Green Beans (This got ousted last week by an impromptu trip to Chili’s!)

This week looks fairly easy and tasty to me!  That Chili and Corn Bread should hit the spot, given the cooler temperatures we’ve been having.  It’ll be a nice way to warm up after our oldest’s soccer game.

What foods do you like to warm up with in the fall?  Oh, and who’s older– you or your spouse?  Surely, I’m not the only “older woman” out there!

  • I’m two years younger than my hubby, which is quite normal I guess. I love stews, soups and chili for the cooler months.

  • I am 5 years older than my husband, but from May 22- July 6 it’s only 4 years..I like that time. :)

I am 6 months older than my husband, so from the end of August to the beginning of March I get called the “old lady.”

I’m 4 years younger than hubby, but my mom is 3 years older than my dad!

I’m amazed every week when you post about what your kids have for breakfast BEFORE 7:30 MASS! We barely make it to 9:00 Mass, and only because football starts at noon an we have to drive an hour to get to my in-laws’ house. This week, my kids ate granola bars on the 5 minute drive. Yo rock! :-)

    • Nothing wrong with granola bars en route! :) In full disclosure, Sunday mornings are ALWAYS just cold cereal and either yogurt or applesauce before Mass. I never get anything fancy or hot pulled together before we have to leave. (And, believe me, I’ve been tsk tsk’ed at for that fact– the lack of a “hot breakfast.”) I figure we all just have to do our best, right? (p.s. My MIL was three years older than my FIL too!)

I just made my first meatball pizza. You are so brilliant! :-)
