Feed Reader?

Okay, now don’t fall over or anything, but I have to tell you something…

I’ve never used a feed reader.

I’ve also never subscribed to a blog.

Shocking, isn’t it?  I’ve been blogging for close to three years and reading (and commenting on!) blogs for even longer and, well, I’ve yet to explore using a reader.

So today?  I’m asking for your help!

  • How do I get started?
  • Are there reader options?  (I don’t even know!)
  • Is this going to simplify my life or create another time suck?
  • How many blogs do you recommend having on a feed reader?

Help a girl out!  Please?

If you read a lot of blogs, then a feed reader will definitely simplify your life. Not having to check individuals sites for new posts is huge! I love Google Reader.

As far as the # of blogs. Ummm…I think I added four more today? ;) There is no right answer to that one.

So today?  I’m asking for your help!

How do I get started?  Just sign in toGmail, click Reader above in the drop down or menu list. Add your blog to test it out and see how it works. Easy peasy.
Are there reader options?  Yes! But I prefer Reader and don’t Ben bother with anything else.
Is this going to simplify my life or create another time suck?  Both! Do you receive feeds via email or are you logging in every day to each of he websites? Maybe even searching via Swagbucks to earn more? Either way, blog reading is a time suck. The nice thing? You can Star posts (thanks google!) and easily find posts later. You can also search all feeds/ sites/ posts for items (i.e. A recent recipe for tuna salad)
How many blogs do you recommend having on a feed reader? I have 30 and they are labeled/grouped by type (food, frugal, parenting)

Ps- I popped over from lifeAsMom to say hi :)

    • Thanks so much! I did finally get Google Reader set up and, so far, I’m loving it! I find that I have to think harder about clicking over to leave comments, but it definitely saves me time from having to visit all the individual sites. :)
