Prayer For the Unborn

I am fasting today. It is Ash Wednesday, and I believe it's an important
sacrifice. I'm also spending much of my day in prayer for the unborn.

Whether you choose to fast or not, would you please join me in praying
for the innocent? In praying that, one day, we all may recognize the
sanctity of life?

Almighty God, our Father,
you who have given us life
and intended us to have it forever,
grant us your blessings.

Enlighten our minds to an awareness
and to a renewed conviction
that all human life is sacred
because it is created
in your image and likeness.
Help us to teach by word
and the example of our lives
that life occupies the first place,
that human life is precious
because it is the gift of God
whose love is infinite.
Give us the strength to defend human life
against every influence
or action that threatens or weakens it,
as well as the strength
to make every life more human
in all its aspects.

Give us the grace...

When the sacredness of life
before birth is attacked,
to stand up and proclaim
that no one ever has the authority
to destroy unborn life.

When a child is described as a burden
or is looked upon only as a means
to satisfy an emotional need,
to stand up
and insist that every child is a unique
and unrepeatable gift of God,
a gift of God
with a right to a loving
and united family...

Almighty Father,
give us courage to proclaim the supreme dignity
of all human life and to demand
that society itself give its protection.
We ask this in your name,
through the redemptive act
of your Son and in the Holy Spirit.

I was 23 and married. I had my first born thinking of how I would bring this inocent child up in a marrige full of villant behavior.
Threats with Physical abuse and beatings that were unbarrable. Thinking of my child’s well being as I prayed I would seek advice from leagle and Christian mature friends and familly.
They all strongly advised that I flee from this relationship. Although I NEVER believed in divorce I ‘HAD’ to do it.
It was the last day before I left he aproched me with a Knife as the baby slept, I grabbed my child and franticly fled the Scene.
When I filed for divorce I had become ill and found out that I was 13 days pregnant. As he came returned little had I known what the outcome would be.
Scared as I was I ran to a clinic, Hurting with tears and a lot of fear as I had unanswered questions. They talked to me and reasured me that things would be alright.
Alone and scared a young adult I was/,I listened and trusted. Overwhelmed with fear I prayed and had gone through whith it.
I have asked GOD for forgiveness, GONE through cunfession many times. And still have a difficult time.

Lord I ask you once more in writing this confession. Would you forgive me? and Allow comfort, peace, and cobmness into my heart.

    In Jesus’ name I pray.
    Your loving Angel

I have just now found this website while following links for gift ideas. Instead, I’ve been reading all your posts re.: abortion and all the responses. I am very grateful that you have given a voice to the way many of us believe, and you do it with intelligence and are “to the point”. I appreciate that you do so also without argument and, especially, without apology.

To “Peace”: I typically don’t write replies, and this certainly isn’t timely, so you may never see it. But I feel I need to express how moved I was by your comment, Peace. I feel your pain and wish I could make it go away.

I have never been in your same position, but we have all made mistakes and we have all sinned.
If you have confessed to Jesus and have repented, then you are forgiven.

You need to let yourself accept and feel that forgiveness. You may always miss your child, but you shouldn’t still have the pain associated with your separation from God caused by sin. He wants you back, and He is there to love and comfort you. I can’t help but feel that NOT feeling the love and forgiveness of God is the devil’s work and his goal. The devil wants to keep you away from God, but if you open your eyes, you will see that your loving God is there, the guilt after confession is the devil’s illusion.

There are groups I know of within the Catholic church but I’m sure elsewhere as well that are specifically designed to help with this situation. Contact “Project Rachel” @ 1-800-286-4224. You are not alone.
